#700 Sound Valley

By | March 13th, 2019|Podcast|

Sound Valley started from the idea of wanting to build Dayton through music, and be part of the culture that’s revitalizing the city. @TheIzzyRock chats with Zac Pitts about his back story and the creation of Sound Valley.

Sound Valley is a community driven initiative with the goal of bringing regional and national attention to Dayton’s vibrant and growing music scene. Sound Valley is a group of Dayton musicians, journalists, promoters, and music supporters who are working to build a vibrant music Scene through promotion and production. We believe that by working together we can put a national spotlight on the natural homegrown talent that exist right here in the Miami Valley.

Thanks to Zac Pitts & Ashley Karsten for creating Sound Valley.

Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Zac Pitts joined the “Living Dayton” team as a host in October of 2015.

He attended Chaminade-Julienne High School and graduated from The University of Dayton with a degree in Electronic Media Communications.

You may have seen Zac before years ago on Dayton’s CW. He appeared on air as “Zac the Intern” and blogged about show’s on Dayton’s CW. He’s thrilled to be back home and work at the station where he got his “foot in the door” in TV. He worked at WDTN-TV shortly after graduating as a “production assistant”. In other words, he basically started his career running teleprompter for Mark Allan!

After some time behind the scenes, Zac took his first (paid) on air job at WLIO-TV in Lima as a morning anchor/reporter. Shortly after that, his career took him farther north to Toledo where he spent two years as a morning reporter at WTVG-TV. Zac comes to Living Dayton from WCPO-TV in Cincinnati where he worked as a morning reporter as well. (Let’s just say he’s thankful “Living Dayton” no longer requires a 2:30am alarm clock).

When Zac’s not working he enjoys playing guitar and recording music with his younger brother, Josh. He’s very into fitness as well. He and his other brother, Jake have their “brotherly bonding time” at the gym. Family is very important to Zac. His parents live in the Springboro area along with their three English Bulldogs, “Dutchess”, “Rosie” and “Daisy”

Zac is thrilled to be a part of a show that showcases the city that helped shaped who he is today! Catch him weekdays at noon alongside Julia Palazzo and Sallie Taylor.
