How can you think globally and act locally? Protecting the Earth at large, while focusing efforts here at home in Dayton, is one of the issues our host Libby Ballengee wants to learn more about. In this episode she discusses local environmental issues with Brian Williams from the Sierra Club Miami Group.
The Sierra Club Miami Group is dedicated to enjoying, protecting and preserving the planet in Southwest Ohio – which includes Adams, Auglaze, Brown, Butler, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby, and Warren Counties. This area of the Sierra Club was started in 1971, nearly 80 years after the Sierra Club was founded by John Miur. The Sierra Club is the nation’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. An Executive Committee oversees the leadership and direction of the group in the Miami area. The group includes many sections of focus like conservation, political action, outings, membership and outreach, and more!
