Bill and Mark have Kim Schaaf and Ashley Reeves from Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton stop by the podcast to talk about their organization and its goals in the community. After Bill butchers the name of this important group a lot was learned about what they do in the Dayton area. Habitat doesn’t just help hard working people get into affordable home ownership but they also show people how to manage finances and learn better eating habits. Kim is the Donor Relations Specialist for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton. She started with Habitat as a volunteer on the Special Events Committee, fell in love with the “hand up, not a hand out” motto and decided to make a career change from banking to nonprofit. Kim leads the Women Build Committee, which is dedicating to empowering and inspiring women to build better communities. Kim is also a Board member of another local nonprofit, Party with a Purpose Dayton.

Ashley is the Volunteer Services Coordinator for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton. She has always had a passion for nonprofit work. She worked for Girl Scouts for 3 years before making the switch to Habitat. Ashley leads the Community Engagement Committee, which focus on recruiting and retaining volunteers. Ashley still actively volunteers for Girl Scouts and enjoys helping young ladies build courage, confidence and character.
