Mark DaGrossa and Scott Epic sit down to chat with Joel and Stephen Levinson of Dayton, Ohio about their careers, including making a movie about an aging boy band in Dayton, Ohio. “Together we call ourselves the Levinson Brothers, a name we invented. We’re comedy writers and video producers – both animated and live action. Our videos have appeared in film festivals worldwide. We also make comedy albums with our pal Rob Kutner.”
Stephen is a writer for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Previously he’s written for “Good Morning Today” and “Midterm Mayhem” on the Fusion network. He has been a digital producer at Comedy Central, creating apps for “Futurama,” “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and “The Colbert Report.” He lives with his wife Hannah and his kids Noah & Dahlia in New York.
Joel is a professional video contest winner, who has appeared on The Tonight Show and been featured on the front page of the New York Times. He lives with his children Morty & Hubie and wife Randi in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
We make videos, take beautiful pictures of things to share (mostly outlets), say things on Twitter as Levinson Brothers and separately as Stephen and Happyjoel, and are working on creating our first movie called “HeartThrob,” the story of a boy band trying for one more shot at boy band glory, despite the fact they are older, fatter and balder now.
We made an album called 2776 that was on the Billboard comedy charts.
