Ohio Ghost Town Exploration Co. – Founded by Glenn Morris in April of 2012 & based in Cincinnati – Official business name approved by the state on 3/28/2014
We research, explore, & promote the preservation of the coolest ghost towns & historical places in Ohio, everything from completely abandoned towns to large cities. Our group also makes several trips a year to discover what’s physically left of them. It’s how we learn about our state’s history & the people that lived through it. We’re interested in the potential for paranormal activity at some of the locations too, but that’s a small percentage of the massive research that we do. It usually starts with the founding of the towns & some genealogy of those involved, then moves on the the town’s heyday, & ends with what’s still there today. Some of the usual types of locations we visit are: abandoned houses, businesses, churches, cemeteries, schools, mills, town halls, bridges; pretty much anything that should be recognized for it’s historical value. We also do things to get Buckeyes actively involved in learning more about the towns with occasional photo contests on our facebook page, voting on towns for top ten lists on our website, guided tours at some of the abandoned locations, & generally promoting travel to cool places all over the state that usually won’t be found in rest area pamphlets or on most maps. Our website & other online pages are a treasure trove of info for history buffs, ghost hunters, & anyone living in or visiting Ohio that’s looking for the different than normal things to check out & do. The people that lived in some of the towns are long gone but the stories continue to be told through the buildings & items that were left behind.
Company Motto: “Hold this rope & pull me out if I start screaming.”
